QuickSet sets the precedent for the Technology Roadmap

Earlier this month we completed an internal review of our Engineering department and our Technology Roadmap. This is an important function in a technology driven company as it allows us to step back and assess a "big picture" view of where we think we are going and how we can get there. Taking a look at the charts that were presented really highlights how QuickSet has transformed into a modular solution set provider for Security System's integrators and primes. QuickSet is quickly becoming the standard interface through which all integrators and primes can to connect to a wide variety of visible and thermal cameras, lenses, acoustic sensors, chemical agent detectors, radars, Lasers, and even munitions.

During my few short years here, QuickSet has rapidly progressed from simple analog AC and DC control to semi-smart, smart, and now "intelligent" systems where the dominant feature sets are not the physical parameters, such as torque, speed and accuracy, but rather the software parameters such as the interface mode, protocol, and graphical presentation. And now, we're putting the finishing touches on our first really major technological transformation since I've taken over as President of QuickSet: The Java Tool Kit.

In simple terms, the Java Tool Kit is an "Erector Set" of software modules that can be plugged together to rapidly configure customized software applications for QuickSet customers. Plug in modules for many different camera types, lenses, and all types of other sensors as well as custom configuration of Graphical User Interface (GUI) presentations (called "skins") are available. We'll soon be ready to deliver this amazing capability to you, our customers. It will radically transform our ability to quickly respond to customized hardware/software control configurations. It will also greatly enhance field supportability and future expansion and sensor upgrades through a remote software "up-flash".

So, get ready to talk "skins" and "GUI"s the next time you are on the phone with one of our Sales Representatives...It's all part of the ongoing QuickSet transformation!
