Dan Cloud
Dan Cloud has been part of the QuickSet team for seven years. In January 2005 Dan took on the position of Technical Director of Business Development. Before assuming his current position, Dan was the Electronic Product Development Manager. When Dan first joined the QuickSet team in late 1997 he came on board as the Quality Assurance Manager. Dan first attended the Wilburt Wright junior college and he received his degree from Devry University in electrical engineering. Dan explains why he went into engineering: “After failing English 101 twice, I realized that I didn’t have the patience to deconstruct sentences and turn their meaning around. I chose engineering because that’s what I have an interest in and out of all the vocations it seemed the most attractive to make a living at.”
Before coming on board to QuickSet Dan worked at the Montgomery Ward Corporate office as the Electronic Product Development and Product Testing Manager. At Ward's he helped to design and create electronic products. The most rewarding thing for Dan at Ward was creating On Screen Menus and having the Japanese change their product lines to fit Dan’s creation. Dan says, “I was invited by the Japanese to Japan to guide their engineers and designers to develop the on screen menus.” Dan goes on to explain why likes to be a part of the QuickSet team: “I most enjoy creating products and features based on customer input, along with the ability to influence concepts and product design.” With Dan’s background in Product Development and Electrical Engineering, he’s a great value to the QuickSet team.
