Klaus Leitloff
Klaus Leitloff has been part of the QuickSet team for forty years. He is currently the Director of Production. When Klaus first started at Quickset it was on a part time basis. After working here for six months he was offered a full time position as the foreman supervisor. Klaus never planed to stay with QuickSet for a long time. He had a plan of working here for a while and then moving to Australia or Argentina. He felt that the language barrier might stand in his way and not let him accept the job as foreman supervisor. However, Klaus attended night school for two years to be fluent in English. Klaus is originally from Berlin, Germany. Before coming to the United States he was part of the German army. Klaus was drafted into the German army. Being from Germany Klaus remembers the end of World War II.
What has kept Klaus in Chicago and specifically at QuickSet has been his job. In 1976 QuickSet started building more than tripods. As Klaus says, “We diversified. QuickSet is in constant progress and that’s one reason why we are still around and why I stay.” His work ethics are very important to him: “The people who work for me are as important as the company. If I don’t have a good team behind me then I can’t do my job. I always make sure that the people who work for me are properly compensated because before I get compensated because I know that I wouldn’t be able to do it without them. At the same time, I also expect the people on my team to perform very well.” Klaus adds a great value to the QuickSet team with his extensive knowledge of the company and his great loyalty.
