Growing Capabilities

QuickSet's new Pan and Tilt / Camera controller is designed to grow with what the CCTV market demands. Our legacy controllers were designed to control only one pan-tilt at a time. Some applications still require only that. However, many pan-tilt positioners need to be controlled from one point as well as control the payload that is mounted on it. With Homeland Security requirements the payload typically is a camera. QuickSet’s controller is compatible with many different kinds of camera manufacturers and types from visible color, to long, medium, near wave infrared, and image intensified cameras. The input/output data interface is configured just like that of a common computer. RS-232 / RS-422, USB, and Ethernet 10/100 BaseT interfaces are standard.

One USB output is dedicated to connection to a touch-screen control interface that allows expansion of the basic controller buttons to an unlimited array depending on the customers needs. The touch-screen allows mapping of a surveyed area so that surveillance cameras are readily located and selectable to facilitate what video images are being observed and where.

The touch screen also allows control of RS-232/RS-422, USB or Ethernet controlled video matrix or serial data control switches. The large and bright LED read out of azimuth and elevation locations is an attractive feature, especially to military operators that must easily see that information at a glance. The joystick and slider controls of zoom, focus and iris of the camera are also designed to be tactile friendly. Little tiny buttons for control of important surveillance sensors or radar antennae will not be found on this controller.
A video feed-through option allows up to four video signals from cameras mounted on four pan and tilts to be multiplexed for a quad video view of the four camera outputs which are selectable for full screen viewing of any of the four camera inputs. A unique feature this controller soon to be released is video position control (VPC). Say a car comes into view in the distance in the upper right hand corner of the touch-screen. If you now want that car to be centered on the screen you simply touch the car and the positioner will automatically position the car to the center of the screen. Auto zoom will also be available such that the camera will also zoom in on the car to a preset value as well as center it on the screen with the touch of a finger.
