Quickset recently introduced a new line of touch screen capable controllers for our pan-tilts. The controllers were developed using our modular software platform that allows for rapid development of customized applications. The controller software runs on Windows and Linux based operating systems inside the unit. The controller can function standalone or be operated using a touch-screen graphical interface. The controller hardware includes proportional control for positioning as well as for iris, zoom and focus. Three auxiliary function control buttons provide built in access to the auxiliary device control signals available on Quickset pan-tilts.
Inside, the controller uses processors from 200-600mhz depending on customer application needs. The controllers utilize FLASH memory cards that are field upgradeable for software updates and enhancements. A VGA port is also provided for using an optional graphical display with the controller and the 2 USB connections can be used to connect a touch screen or other alternative data entry and control devices.
Our controllers have also been architected so we can customize them readily to meet customer demands. The Quickset software platform has interfaces our team can use for rapid addition of protocols for new cameras and data acquisition devices. This capability was recently used to interface with a new night vision system in a matter of days and to link multiple controllers together for multi-user operations. Using this new platform Quickset is able to quickly address custom integration and control needs for the future.
