 Rod Harris
Rod Harris has been part of the QuickSet team since 2001. On July 21, 2003 Rod became the Manager of Government and Strategic Programs. Before being the manager of government programs he was the senior applications engineer for sales and marketing. Rod has over 30 years of experience in electro-optical engineering, and 15 years of experience in research and development. Rod has vast skill ranging from Project Engineer for Hughes Aircraft Company to Electronic Engineering Technician and Test Production Supervisor for Honeywell Test Instruments Division. Rod served five years in the U.S. Navy as a Microwave Communications Technician aboard several U.S. Naval warships. He graduated from the U.S. Navy Electronics Communications “A” School, and the Denver Institute of Technology. Rod attended the University of Colorado majoring in Electrical Engineering and Attended ATEP Geometric and physical optic courses. He has worked on engineering digital photographic printer product lines, and research and development of an optical disc data storage system. This system created some of the basic technology for today’s compact disc (CD) and DVD players and writers. Rod also assisted in the design and fabrication of a medical immunology reader system prototype. This prototype detected and identified various infectious microorganisms.Rod explains: “Exploring science and technology has been a passion for me since childhood. Visualizing a solution to a problem using optics, electronics or mechanics seems to come to me intuitively.” Rod’s limitless knowledge has helped QuickSet move to the production of integrated systems.
