Doing more with less
Our needs today require that we do more with less. Our armed forces, police departments, and security agencies need extended senses to reach beyond the capabilities of what one person can do. This is done, for instance, using cameras that not only see in the dark, but that can see all the way to the horizon of the earth. Sensors that are triggered when touched or moved by vibration from a footstep or even swimming silently can allow cameras to be directed to the point of entry and then track the intruder. Ships in harbors, sleeping troops, vital water and food supplies, and nuclear reactors all need protection by extended sensors linked together through networked control and monitoring centers. The need for these large numbers of networked surveillance systems is why QuickSet is involved with surveillance system design. The development of complete end-to-end surveillance systems is a natural progression of our core product, pan and tilt positioners and tripods.
